Slingshot Rental Company in Miami FL

The Slingshot is a three-wheeled vehicle with a five-speed manual transmission. Its handling differs from a two-wheeled motorcycle, three-wheeled, and four-wheeled vehicle. The distinguishing characteristic of the Polaris Slingshot is its configuration and appearance. First introduced in late 2014, the Slingshot borders between a motorcycle and a car.

Just like any car, Polaris has made recent upgrades to the Slingshot. It resembles a roadster with a steering wheel, pedals, and seat belts. It has no roof, thus giving its driver an open-air experience. Most Slingshots are powered by a 2-liter inline four-cylinder engine that delivers 178 horsepower. So what makes the Slingshot different from other three-wheeled cars? Let’s investigate.

What Are The Unique Features of the Slingshot?

The Polaris Slingshot is being marketed as an autocycle, meaning it is part automobile and motorcycle. At the Federal level, it is being regulated like a motorcycle. However, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration distinguishes three-wheeled vehicles from their two-wheeled counterparts because it has a steering wheel and a driver seat.

There are other three-wheeled vehicles in the market, but what makes them different from the others? Here are some answers.

1. The Design

The Polaris Slingshot can be attractive to motorcycle riders looking for a unique ride and car drivers looking for a taste of motorcycle excitement. It has an open cockpit, so that any conversation will be impossible. Just like a motorcycle, there is limited storage. There is a glovebox and spaces behind the seats, large enough for a helmet and nothing else.

From the outside, you will see that it is shaped like a wheelbarrow. The Slingshot has two seatbelts, which come from the inside and buckle from the outside. Unlike a motorcycle, it has a low center of gravity. In addition, it has foot pedals similar to a car, like a brake, clutch, and accelerator. It has three steering wheels– one rear Drive and two front wheels.

2. The Dashboard

The Slingshot features a seven-inch touchscreen display and a supporting app that enhances the driving experience. Like most cars, the diagnostics are placed front and center, allowing the driver to check the odometer, fuel level, and tire pressure. Known as Ride Command+, the supporting app includes a vehicle locator that provides the Slingshot’s last location to find where it is parked easily.

Finally, it has a trip planner, tracking, and maps to help you get around and enjoy the ride.

3. Hot & Ventilated Seats

Since the Polaris Slingshot has an open cockpit, you cannot control its engine temperature. But it features heated and cooled seats to maintain your comfort level. With thermoelectric technology, you can make the seats hot or cold as you wish. It features interactive buttons that turn blue and red depending on the temperature.

4. The Hood

The all-new Polaris Slingshot combines function and style with its vented sports hood. Made from durable fiberglass composite material, its vented hood gives the Slingshot its aggressiveness. In addition, its vented fenders and hood scoop allow improved aerodynamics and cockpit airflow.

5. The Brake System

When it comes to stopping power, the Slingshot packs a punch. Designed by Bembo, the Italian innovator of automotive braking systems, the Slingshot features a four-piston Bembo brake. Its front brake rotors are 14% larger than the standard front brake rotors, and its fixed calipers come in red or orange.

Overall, Slingshot’s braking system delivers increased sensitivity and helps improve the feel and look of your ride.

6. Customization

With the Slingshot, you can customize your ride according to your specifications. There are four customization packages with specific riders in mind. The Escape is suitable for longer rides, the Drive is for the rider looking to get the most out of their ride, the Show offers enhanced audio and lighting, and the Design comes with customized and color-matching accessories.

Aside from that, riders can customize their rides further with add-ons.

7. Waterproof Cockpit

You may think that having an open cockpit will damage the inside of your Slingshot. Well, that is not the case due to its waterproof cockpit. All models have a watertight cockpit, including the seats and media console. The Slingshot has drain holes on the floor, so you don’t have to worry about getting your feet wet with water. With the Slingshot, you can keep your planned ride the same because of the rain.

8. Pump Up The Volume

For its 2022 models, the Slingshot has upgraded its sound level with the Rockford Fosgate Audio system so you can groove to your favorite beat even in the open air. The SL, SLR, and LE variants feature a Stage 2 audio kit powered by a 400-watt four-channel amp. It also includes 6.5-inch front mid-range speakers and 1-inch LCP tweeters.

For the Slingshot S, you can upgrade your sound system to the Technology Package, with Stage 1 audio with 6.5-inch speakers and 1-inch tweeters. In addition, there is a 2.7-inch Color LCD, rear center LED brake lighting, and a clear windscreen.

 Conclusion

The Polaris Slingshot is a motorcycle and automobile in one, giving you the best of both worlds in a comfortable and stylish ride. Miami Sling has a variety of different slingshot motorcycles. Check out to learn more about slingshots and see what we have available.
